Advanced IP Scanner is an application which enables you to scan the computers of a local network. It works both with wired and wireless connections. Apart from scanning ports, the tool allows you to have access to shared files and folders.
When installing the program, you notice two options regarding the means of running the app; you can either install it on your computer, or simply run it with no set up required. With the portable version you have the advantage of using the software on any device of your connectivity; this way, you no longer depend on a primary computer to monitor the network.
The utility comes with a neat and user-friendly interface. The largest area is held by the list panel displaying information about all the computers in the network. Whether this list is long enough and only few devices are frequently controlled, you can create a favorite list of computers for regular use.
The program is mostly standardized. However, you can make some additional settings like decreasing or increasing the scanning speed; obviously, this action will have a positive and, respectively, a negative impact on CPU usage. You can also select the resources to be scanned; the time left till the scanning process is over depends on the number of ticked resources.

These options are of great help when you deal with a large number of machines which need to be turned off or on at the same time.
